Lahore Qalandars vs Multan Sultans: Opening match of HBL PSL 8
The 8th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to begin on February 13th, with the Lahore Qalandars taking on the Multan Sultans in the opening match at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
The Qalandars will have the opportunity to make history by becoming the first franchise to win back-to-back titles, after defeating the defending champions, the Sultans, in the previous edition.
The 34-match tournament will take place in four venues across the country – Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. Each of the four home sides will play five matches in front of their home crowd, one against each of the other teams.

Lahore Qalandars aim to make history with back-to-back titles
The tournament will be divided into two legs, with matches taking place at the Multan Cricket Stadium and National Bank Cricket Arena from February 13th to 26th, before moving to The Gaddafi Stadium and Pindi Cricket Stadium from February 26th to March 19th.
This includes the Qualifier, two Eliminators, and the final, which will be held from March 15th to 19th.
In addition to the men's tournament, the soft launch of the Pakistan Women’s League will also take place during the HBL PSL 8, with three exhibition matches that will be played in Rawalpindi on March 8th, 10th, and 11th. The teams will comprise leading local and foreign players, with details that will be announced at a later date.

The Chairman of the PCB Management Committee, Mr. Najam Sethi, said that the tournament aims to be bigger, better, and stronger than ever before, with the goal of making it the first-choice event for leading T20 cricketers.
He also hopes that the tournament will unearth and identify future stars who will go on to represent Pakistan. The PCB extends its gratitude to HBL for their support of the tournament.
The teams participating in the HBL Pakistan Super League 8 are Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators. Each team has a strong squad of players, including some of the best T20 cricketers from around the world.
Women's cricket is also in the spotlight with the soft launch of the Pakistan Women's League
The Lahore Qalandars will be led by Sohail Akhtar, who had an impressive performance in the previous edition of the tournament. The team also includes players like Mohammad Hafeez, Shaheen Afridi, and Ben Dunk, who are known for their all-around abilities.
The Multan Sultans, on the other hand, will be led by Mohammad Rizwan and will feature players like James Vince, Rilee Rossouw, and Shahid Afridi.

Islamabad United, the most successful team in the tournament's history with two titles, will be led by Shadab Khan and will feature players like Colin Munro, Faheem Ashraf, and Lewis Gregory in their squad.
Karachi Kings will be led by Imad Wasim and will feature players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, and Colin Ingram.
